IR Services
Infrared Research, Inc., is a technical corporation
located in Rossville, Georgia, with two full time ASNT Level II
qualified Thermographers to provide the industrial community with
state of the art infrared thermographic services.
Infrared Research
typically surveys a facilities power sources and equipment with
portable, self powered infrared equipment sensitive to temperature
variance of .25º Fahrenheit. This thermal image or "Thermogram" is
recorded on a data card, making a very detailed study and evaluation
possible at your convenience.
For
preventative maintenance records the data is stored on CD compact disk
and is available through our web site.
You may use
this disk to:
1. Reproduce any additionally needed report pages using
your printer.
2. Search for specific items that are reoccurring problems.
3. Transmit report pages electronically via e-mail.
4. Long term storage of report data (shelf life 99+ years)
Thermographic surveys may be utilized to:
A
non-intrusive evaluation of the condition of
electrical power distribution systems, while under load, to
indicate loose connections, overheating transformers, disconnects,
insulation breakdown and circuit breaker heating. As you know,
resistance in electrical systems produces heat.
Inspect
steam and hot water piping for insulation breakdown,
and proper operation of steam traps and condensate piping. Blocked
lines and not fully seated
valves are also detectable.
Inspect
refractory furnaces and smoke stacks while in operation for heat
loss due to insulation and structural deterioration, also locate
heat losses in large ovens and furnaces for improved safety and
economy.
Indicate the
heat loss pattern for buildings and other structures to reduce
operating cost.
We have found
that the usefulness of thermographic service is only limited by the
imagination of the technician and technical personnel involved.
Therefore, with the advanced knowledge of thermography, derived from
this service, you can eliminate outages and consequently increase
profits.
